The Concorde Association was founded on September 19, 1973 by the then rector of the Polish Catholic Mission, Fr. Zbigniew Bernacki. The subtitle of the association, “Friends of the Polish Catholic Mission in France”, clearly defines its mission. Its primary goal is to support the Polish Catholic Mission in France.
“Concorde” means harmony in Polish. The French word “concorde” comes from the Latin “cum corde”, which means “with heart”—united in heart.
This union, formed to support the Polish Catholic Mission, brings together members who may be Polish or their French friends.
The Concorde Association aims to:
Support the Polish Catholic Mission in France in fostering a community spirit rooted in Christianity among Poles and French people of Polish descent;
Develop cultural, social, and economic values and richness in new circumstances, both among the French and within the European community;
Deepen and expand French-Polish contacts and bonds of friendship.
Forms of activity:
Organizing French-Polish cultural meetings
Establishing community centers among Polish communities in France
Organizing meetings, courses, and excursions
Revitalizing cultural centers
Providing social, legal, and administrative assistance
